Heavenly rendezvous for family, friends, and associates. Cozy, large (~1800 sq ft), Mountain Shangri-La is a classic Western cabin. It has an open floor plan that includes a living/dining/kitchen area, three private bedrooms, and a full-length spacious and enclosed gear/mud room. Heated by a wood-stove plus electric heat, it has a well-stocked kitchen any cook will appreciate. Mountain Shanri-La sits on 48 mostly wooded acres adjoining Shoshone National Forest and bordered by vacant parcels. It’s quite private without feeling isolated. Cabin is at the end of wee road with no close or visible neighbors. Wildflowers and wildlife abound in summer, and starry nights and scudding clouds decorate the skies above stunning vistas (see video and fb page). Conveniently just a dozen miles from artsy, historic Dubois, a mile from the county road, and a few miles to Western-style restaurants, it’s a perfect base from which to explore the region.
Cabin nestles in the SW corner of a large, gently sloped meadow, with private forest approaching from two sides. Summary: We had a great time on our first trip to Dubois and this cabin was great. The view was incredible. Even had a visit from the fox which was incredible. Saw tons of wildlife on our way to Jackson/Yellowstone including two grizzlies. The cabin seemed to be on top of the world. It had everything we needed and we cooked quite a few meals while there. Cabin was decorated in a 60’s/70’s style, down to the carpet and curtains. Very clean. Only complaint was that we could not use the dish washer. It was nice coming back to the cabin each evening when it was around 60 degrees and so refreshing g. The air is so fresh and crisp. We’d love to visit again one day. Thanks Frank!
