Lake Wequas is a quiet no-wake lake nestled in the heart of the woods, 10 minutes from the shopping and dining of downtown Gaylord. Kayaking, fishing, golfing, swimming, hiking, off-roading, skiing, snowmobiling, biking. 60 minutes to Traverse City or Mackinac.
Ride all of your outdoor toys right off the property to the trails.
The space
The cottage feels more like an updated home. The outdoor surroundings may be all natural and rustic, but the interior of the home is nicely decorated. This isn't the Ritz Carleton with 1,000 thread count handmade cotton sheets, but you can see from the pictures you'll be far from roughing it. No AC, but with tons of fans and the house in mostly shade, it’s rarely an isssue.
Having kids, we know what it was like to travel with ALL of the extras you needed to bring: high chair, pack and play, stroller, utensils... maybe even a spare safety gate? Rest easy, we've taken care of that for you. We have all of the above ready for your family to use. The main interior staircase has gates at both the top and the bottom, and the staircase on the exterior balcony has a gate at the top.
The main floor public space is open concept, allowing for fantastic outdoor views. The combination of lake view and multiple towering trees truly adds to the feeling of being out in nature (but you're still just 10 minutes from Meijer or downtown).
Even though we hope it's the last thing on your mind, we've got smart TVs connected to the WiFi loaded up with streaming apps. Just log in with your own account, and continue to binge your favorite shows!
We've got a collection of games, puzzles, books, and children's toys for your entertainment needs. And what family getaway would be complete without a ping-pong tournament?
The outdoor space is where this cottage shines. Large sandy beach frontage. Fantastic fire pit and seating. Large picnic table that seats 8-10. Outdoor backyard lighting. Whether you're an early riser or a complete night owl, the outdoor space here will have you smiling ear to ear.

One of the two closets in the master bedroom is locked and off-limits as well as a storage room in the basement. Other than that, nothing in the home is off limits.
We do ask that guests stay out of the garage as well.
