LOCATION
The Dog and Whale is located in a quiet, very desirable part of the Country Club Estates neighborhood in Fontana, on a large, sunny corner lot just a block from the path that leads down to the lake and beach. It’s a half-mile (just a quick walk or drive) to the beach, shore path, golf, The Abbey Resort and Marina, Chuck’s and Gordy’s on the lakefront, Blue Heaven Ice Cream, The Coffee Mill, Fontana Home, boat rentals, and the shops and dining establishments of “downtown” Fontana.
*Guests who book 30 nights or more will have exclusive Country Club Estates privileges, which gives access to the coveted private beach, pier and parking.

THE SPACE
Main Floor
The Dog and Whale is a light and bright home with tons of character. It is ideal for allowing two families or groups of friends to enjoy each other’s company, yet be able to retreat to private spaces. It offers two separate living/family rooms, both with fireplaces and 65” smart TVs, and a large central kitchen that is well-appointed with everything you’ll need for eating in or entertaining. There is a king bedroom with a sink and a queen bedroom; these share a full bath with a walk-in shower. There is also a half-bath on the main floor.
Second Floor
Stairs from the great room lead up to the “Sea Captain’s Roost,” (you’ll pass the inspiration for the name Dog and Whale on the way up!) where a reading nook under a skylight welcomes you to huge bedroom outfitted with iron camp style beds: two doubles with Sleep Number mattresses, and two cozy, comfy twins. You’ll love the vintage nautical flags and artwork that evokes the natural setting of Fontana and Lake Geneva. The “Roost” has a large full bathroom with a walk-in shower and tons of storage.
OUTDOOR SPACE
The Dog and Whale has welcoming outdoor spaces for taking advantage of cool, peaceful mornings, afternoons of sunning and game-playing, and dinner alfresco under the stars. The screened in front porch off the kitchen is set with classic white wicker, and is the perfect private place to sip your morning coffee listening to nothing but the breeze in the trees and the birds calling out. The large lawn is a perfect staging place for games or S’mores around the fire pit. The spacious back deck off the great room has a small dining table and a stylish entertainment area under a tree-shaded pergola. It features large, comfy sofas and chairs, a barbecue, built-in bench seating all around, and thoughtful uplighting for enjoying evening cocktails and conversation.
