NOTE: Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or recent negative test is no longer required to check in to our hostel. Masks are not required in the facility. Rather, guests travel at their own risk. Please note that reservations may be cancelled if the guest seems to be sick with COVID-19 symptoms and/or refuses to take a diagnosing test when asked by our staff. We expect everyone to corporate to keep each other safe. If the test result is positive, we may ask a guest to pay for a private room if it is available or we may not be able to accommodate them as we are not set up for them to be able to isolate themselves. Vaccination is highly recommended before traveling!
Check in Policy:
Check-in begins at 2pm; if you'll be arriving in Seattle earlier please feel free to stop by the hostel to store your bags free of charge, get some water, take a shower and use our WIFI. Our reception desk is open 24 hours a day but the front door locks around 8pm. If you’re arriving after 10pm you must notify us or your bed may be resold.
All guests must provide a valid government issued photo identification, credit/debit card and travel documents upon arrival.
Washington State ID's must have an address 50 mile radius away from zip code 98101 or additionally present a document showing an event in Seattle that you plan to attend.
All payments occur during check in for the full amount of your stay. If you need to leave early, any additional nights will be refunded if you check out by 11am on the day you wish to leave.
We do not take payment over the phone, all transactions must take place in person. You must be 18+ in years of age.
Our system places you in the first available bed, we are unable to guarantee multiple bed reservations in the same room. If you are traveling with other guests and want to be in the same room call or email us to make arrangements.

The elegantly restored Elliot Hotel Building, now home to the Green Tortoise Hostel, boasts 30 remodeled bunk rooms. The beautiful historical building has plenty of modern charms too, including: semi-private Mediteranian style tile bathrooms, modern kitchen and large common areas. Each bunk has a reading lamp, small fan, four point power outlet, privacy curtains, and storage locker.

Pike Place Market is famous for fish-throwing, fresh local produce, bakeries, flower shops, cafes, the original Starbucks location, and dozens of ethnic food stalls and restaurants. Our hostel is a close walk to such famous landmarks as the Seattle Center, Space Needle, MoPop ( Pop Culture Museum) , KEXP, Pioneer Square, the Waterfront, the Washington State Ferries to nearby communities, Capitol Hill, and Queen Anne.
Coming to town for a live music show? Check us out -- we're located in the heart of the live music scene. Venues like the Crocodile Cafe, the Showbox Theater, the Paramount Theater, Nuemos, Chop Suey and the Moore Theater are all within walking distance.
