Summary: You get what you pay for. The woman who checked us in was very nice. The room was shabby, peeling paint, uncomfortable bed, flat, small pillows. My only solace was thinking that people crammed into box cars on their way to Auschwitz probably managed to sleep due to sheer exhaustion, so I had it good compared to them. But not by much.
